Understanding Bra Fit and Sizing

Studies often cite that a large percentage of women wear incorrectly fitted bras. The most common mistake is choosing a band that is too large and a cup that is too small. This is complicated by the lack of standardization between countries and even between manufacturers.

Band and Cup Sizing

The two main components of a bra size are the band size (the numbered part, e.g., 34) and the cup size (the lettered part, e.g., C). The cup size is relative to the band size and represents the volume of the breast. It is calculated based on the difference between the bust measurement and the band measurement.
